Gerry Straathof awarded Doctoral Scholarship

PhD Candidate Gerry Straathof was just awarded a Doctoral Entrance Scholarship from the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Calgary. Gerry's doctoral project focuses on the legacy of industrial heritage in Alberta, particularly looking at how researchers and communities can work collaboratively to create digital heritage resources that can widen access to industrial sites and create more complex public narratives about the province's energy history. Congratulations, Gerry!

Energy Stories Lab

The Energy Stories Lab is collaborative and transdisciplinary, combining ethnography with new forms of art and visualization, including augmented reality (AR), 3D object making, collective mapping and GIS. We highly value collaborative community-based digital storytelling methods, such as PhotoVoice, VideoVoice and also novel approaches to oral and life history.
